Founder and Executive Director of Living Word International

Dr. David J. Wriglesworth serves as the Executive Director of Living Word International sharing the ministry in churches, reaching into the world with the Gospel message, and training nationals in their various leadership responsibilities. He has written three books, Christian Courtesy, Jesus Christ: The Model Leader and Relational Leadership: The Godhead and Its Authoritative Structure. The first book discusses biblical hospitality in depth. The second writing has been published in Asia and used for leadership training seminars. He is presently expanding the leadership material to include a general picture of biblical leadership with a ten course program. His ministry has also included magazine and newspaper articles. In his pastorates, he aired two radio programs--Living Word and Praise Notes.

Dr. Wriglesworth also serves as the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Canonsburg, PA, having returned for a second time in this ministry. First Baptist Church, a caring and sharing church, not only ministers to its people but also has a deep concern to reach the world with the Gospel and help meet needs. It supports missionaries nationally and internationally, does special projects for mission organizations, and stands behind Living Word International.

He is married to the former Carrie E. Brockway of Albion, ME who has taught in both public and Christian schools throughout her career. At times, she accompanies him on international trips and shares with the women. She has written a training manual: The Virtuous Woman: A Role Model for Christian Women.

They have three children: Kimber, Chad, and Nicole. Kimber is married to Rondal Perry, an officer in the U.S. Air Force. They have three children, Brandon, Kerra, and Kaley. Chad and his wife Aimee reside and work in the Washington, D.C. area Nicole is married to Bryan Moore, and they have one child, Matthew.

Dr. Wriglesworth came from a pastoral home, accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at age nine. At eighteen years, he committed his life to full-time Christian service.

His service for the Lord has continued for over thirty five years, including youth, Christian education, assistant pastoral and pastoral positions. As a pastor, he served two churches for over sixteen years--First Baptist Church in Canonsburg, PA and First Baptist Church in Mifflintown, PA. Both works grew spiritually and numerically under his leadership. For the last thirteen years, he has been working in sort-term mission projects around the world ministering in many different countries to He continues to work in short-term mission projects around the world and raises support for national pastors. He has also served with World Evangelistic Outreach, a mission agency, and Pennsylvanians for Biblical Morality, a political lobbying organization.

Dr. Wriglesworth has a B.A. in Bible and Christian Education from Barrrington College, Barrington, RI; an M.R.E. degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, MA; and M.Div. and D.Min. degrees from Luther Rice Seminary, Atlanta, GA. He was ordained into the ministry in 1970.
